How to convert PDF to PNG online
- Select a supported PDF file from your device and check its detected type and size.
- Open Settings for the selected file to review pages, resolution (dpi). Leave the displayed defaults if they match your needs.
- Choose Convert and wait for the result. A queued job is waiting for a processing slot; a processing job is being handled.
- Download the result and open it in the application where you will use it. Keep the original and remove the server copy when finished.
What you will download
One PNG for a single selected page, or a ZIP containing one PNG per selected page. Page text becomes pixels.
Available settings
- Pages
- Use all, or page numbers such as 1-3,5. Up to 40 selected pages. Default: all.
- Resolution (DPI)
- 72, 100, 150; default 100.
Understand your file formats
- PDF is a fixed-page document format for reading and sharing.
- PNG is a lossless format useful for screenshots, diagrams and transparent artwork.
PDF vs PNG: what changes?
- Use PDF when page layout needs to travel as a fixed document. ConverterZap can combine, extract, rotate, reorder or create supported PDF files.
- Use PNG when lossless pixels, screenshots, interface graphics or supported transparency matter more than the smallest possible file.
Technical format comparison: PDF vs PNG
These properties describe the formats and the behavior implemented by this route. They are a decision aid, not a promise that two applications render every file identically.
| Format or operation | Format category | Compression behavior | Transparency support | Multi-page or animation behavior in ConverterZap | Typical best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed-page document | Container; text/vector and images may use different compression | Page graphics can include transparency; PDF image routes render/flatten pixels | Multi-page; merge/split/reorder/rotate preserve selected page order | Use PDF when page layout needs to travel as a fixed document. ConverterZap can combine, extract, rotate, reorder or create supported PDF files. | |
| PNG | Raster image | Lossless DEFLATE compression | Yes; supported alpha is kept except when output is flattened to PDF/JPEG | Still image; the first frame is used | Use PNG when lossless pixels, screenshots, interface graphics or supported transparency matter more than the smallest possible file. |

About your output
A PDF page can contain text, vector artwork, images, links and interactive objects. PNG preserves pixel detail but photographs can produce large files. Up to 40 rendered pages and 150 DPI. Output is raster artwork, without selectable text. Password-protected or active-content PDFs are rejected.
Questions about PDF to PNG
Which resolution should I use for PDF to PNG?
Choose 72, 100 or 150 DPI from the displayed settings. Higher resolution makes more pixels and larger files. Review small text at the size where the PNG will actually be used.
What format detail changes from PDF to PNG?
PDF uses Container; text/vector and images may use different compression; PNG uses Lossless DEFLATE compression. The conversion writes a new encoded file, so compare transparency, color and file size in the destination workflow.
Which real-world check matters before I share this PNG file?
Open the downloaded result in the application that will receive it and check the behavior described in the limits: Up to 40 rendered pages and 150 DPI. Output is raster artwork, without selectable text. Password-protected or active-content PDFs are rejected.
